| Delay the Time When Windows Vista Starts a Service |

|
Windows Vista will load several services at startup. Services are small programs that run in the background of your operating system to support tasks that your operating system regularly does. The more services that start when you boot your computer the longer Windows will take to load.
The problem is, you still need most of the services your computer loads. So the best way to get the best of both worlds is to delay the time some services load. It is possible to have the service startup when your computer is inactive. You may need to experiment to determine what services are best to delay. It really depends on your computer habbits. Here is how to delay a service. 1. Go to the Start Menu and search for services.msc. Then double click on Services. 2. Right click on the service that you wish to delay and select properties. 3. Under startup type choose Automatic (Delayed Start). Then click on OK. The next time you boot that service will not start right away letting you to start using Windows sooner. Make sure you know what you are delaying as you may cause Windows to not run as it should. If you want to change the setting back just follow steps 1 through 3. Then choose Automatic.
