These days Serial ATA drives are used in most computers. Newer hard drives have memory onboard to increase the speed that Windows Vista can write to the drive. The disadvantage is if there is power outage and your computer shuts down before the data is written to the hard disk you may lose some data.
In this tip we will show you how to have Windows Vista utilize the memory better. Keep in mind doing so may increase your risk of data loss. We feel the risk is minimal. 1. Go to Start then Computer. 2. Select the Serial ATA drive you wish to enable this feature. Right click on the drive and choose properties. 3. Go to the Hardware tab. 4. Highlight the Serial ATA drive and click on properties. 5. Click on the Policies tab. 6. Put a check mark beside Enable Enhanced Performance then click on OK. 7. Then Click OK on the Desk Properties.
